Did you have the auto shop actually paint it for you? That would be pretty cool. Never thought of that. Wonder what that would cost.
Yea, I handed over the helmet and they did all the work. Incredible job!!! Cost me $50.00 (years ago) due to they knew that the 501st did some charity work. The ...

Re: Bucket paint.
The original Don Post is more of a maroon color. I took my DP to a professional automotive paint shop and matched it with my robes (ROTJ) The color that we used was a "Honda Red" and turned out most beautiful! I'm not sure what the color match number is but could be found by an automotive painter ...

Re: Squirrel's Don Post Helmet repair and paint
Looks like you put allot of work into it, and it looks good. What color red are you going to use? Are you going to paint it yourself or take it to the shop?
Negative, red-eye. The helmet will be black. I'm doing a shadow guard. As for the paint, I'll be doing that myself most likely. Unless I ...

Detailed pics of Sansweet's Royal Guard
While at Steve's house, he let me take some detailed pics of his Royal Guard in his museum. While not a screen used costume, it is very close to the same thing. Here are some pics for you all to study. He tells me the woven belt was actually a bit wider than the one seen in the pics below.

Re: Boots?
FYI -
I just visited with Steve Sansweet recently. We discussed the Royal Guard in detail and the boots. He tells me the original RG's wore almost a pink in color slippers. I took some detailed pics of his personal RG including pics under the robe. I will show them on another thread.
