Need help helmet gap to body please

I think I have to much gap from my helmet to chest and back. Any suggestions on how to fill in? I have seen some with foot ball pads. I'm looking for other ideas
I used foam that I bought from JoAnns or Walmart from the craft area. I got two squares and tried it to fit on my shoulders, cut out a head part then added fabric on the top so it would blend in with the under garment.
